
Nothing cures hunger quite like a thick slap of juicy steak. So satisfying yet so simple to make. All you really need is a nice cut of meat, a good quality thick pan (cast iron!), olive oil, and a dash of salt & pepper. The trick is to control the heat to get that perfect medium rare tenderness (or however you like it).

This is our go-to recipe for a quick and easy burger-fix. Our recipe asks for (preferably fresh) salmon fillet, homemade spicy mayo, and these wonderfully cheesy buns. Our buns of choice are found at Superstore, but any cheese buns will do.

Okay, maybe that’s only me, but when we bought this juicy rack of lamb from the butcher’s (still lying on his cutting board), we expected greatness. My usual lamb dish involves rosemary and/or dijon mustard (I’ll share that later), but this time, I felt that a little special treatment was called for.

There are a few cookbooks sitting on the shelf, but, ironically, the only one we haven’t used is the one occupying the most space. We bought The Silver Spoon
last Christmas, dreaming wistfully of the many delicious Italian dishes we would make…we haven’t. Not that there isn’t anything worth cooking, of course; this book (or is it a tome?) is a well-known and well-loved staple among home cooks. My indecisiveness – combined with my boyfriend’s response of “that looks good” to everything – made it hard to pick something out of that 1500 page giant.
